About Dr. Juned Ahmad Khan
Dr. Juned Ahmad Khan is one of Lucknow's most experienced hepatologists and the Founder of Myra City Hospital. With 16 years of clinical experience since his MBBS and over 7,000 ERCP procedures performed to date, he brings together two of India's most prestigious training lineages in liver and gastrointestinal medicine.
He completed his DM in Hepatology at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi in 2018, under the mentorship of Prof. S.K. Sarin — the founding Director of ILBS and one of India's most cited hepatologists. ILBS offers one of the very few dedicated DM Hepatology programmes in the country, training specialists exclusively in liver and biliary disease rather than gastroenterology broadly. Dr. Khan went on to complete a full year of advanced endoscopic fellowship training under Dr. Malay Sharma in 2018–2019, an internationally recognised authority in endoscopic ultrasound and complex ERCP.
Dr. Khan founded Myra City Hospital to bring this level of specialist hepatology and advanced therapeutic endoscopy directly to Lucknow — care that, until now, families in the region often travelled to Delhi, Mumbai, or Chennai to receive. At Myra he leads a high-volume practice that performs approximately 100 ERCPs every month along with a busy endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) workload, making the unit one of the busiest dedicated therapeutic endoscopy centres in Uttar Pradesh. He routinely accepts complex referrals from across the state, including critically ill, ventilator-supported patients whose ERCPs have failed at other centres.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Khan leads the hepatology and gastroenterology programme at Myra City Hospital's ICU, which manages acute liver failure, severe acute pancreatitis, decompensated cirrhosis, severe alcoholic hepatitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, and post-procedure complications. He serves as the connecting clinical link for timely liver transplant referrals when required.

Clinical philosophy
“Ethical, transparent patient care is the only kind worth doing. Every patient deserves an honest explanation of what is wrong, what the options are, and what each option costs — financially, physically, and in time. Complex liver and pancreatic problems are rarely solved by a single procedure. They are solved by the right sequence of decisions, taken in the right ICU, by the right team.”
— Dr. Juned Ahmad Khan
